Fleeting Fluid Moments by Janet S Rogers

My new poetry book is available to order if you would like one, Published for me by United Press for having 10 poems published in various anthologies by the company since January 2011 and here is a sample poem in memory of Christmases past, just for you!

Blood Red Evergreen Memories by Janet S Rogers

Blood red berries nestled in evergreen thorns
White berries of Mistletoe over the door
Kiss for the season and time of year
Present stuffed stockings filled with Christmas cheer

A table laid full of Christmas fare
Perfect roast turkey and Tatties to share
Crackers to pull, Christmas pudding with cream
Grandad in his paper hat a sight to be seen
Serviette tucked under his gravy stained chin
Dad with his pint and Nan with her gin
Sucking segments of Satsuma tries to keep her teeth in
Speculation on what the Queen may say
In her speech to the nation this Christmas day
Grandad dosing in the armchair
Disinterested grunts pretending to share

Sweet memories of childhood of Christmases past
Of a child in a manger of Angels and stars
The traditions of Christmas bring a smile and a tear
Draw ghosts of the past close to those who are here
Remembered a moment one day of the year

 Hi Grimmer Fans!
How's things with you? We're about to do a special event, it's a one off event that may

... then come along and enjoy yourself, revel in the benefits of being a fan of ours.

(notice the fan singing along at 3:20 ish... that'll be our cameraman Saul haha)

The Workshop Party would usually cost ya £10!
But for you it's free.

Additionally we have decided to go further and let
you bring family for free, and if you want to bring
friends...

...they can take advantage of your VIP status
and get a 40% discount and pay only £6 to attend.

Thoughts For a Friend

This is just a post that I wrote and sent to a friend today and I thought perhaps it could help others who are in a similar place at the moment.

U turn time, cut back to a memory that makes you smile and dwell there for a while,
If you are where I think you are you will understand what I mean,
 No problem is insurmountable
Iit is the fear of the problem that is the underlying cause of despair and loneliness
In reality it is another blip in fate and to waste your time dwelling on it is a waste of your moment and punish yourself needlessly.
Like so many artistic creative people you have extreme highs and lows and your imagination takes control
But the strength of that very same artistic imaginative vent can be turned back with a single thought of worth.
You are as you are meant to be and just as fate has dealt you another negative the positive is there alongside,
Reach for it and you will find yourself again and everything will fall into to place,
No need to ask why me, embrace it.
There is a reason that our paths cross,
Take a look and you will see the bigger picture.
Believe in yourself and for now believe in me,
I promise you I'm with you all the way
Each life has its twists and turns and the road is not always clear,
Some hills become hard to climb but that all seeing eye is watching over you and the straight is just over the hill,
Dry your tears and follow your dream :)) xxx

    • Janet Rogers She was an amazing lady, employed by Social services but she went far and beyond the call of duty for every single girl who passed through her care, she never did it for the money she did it for the love and care of each and every one of us, She was with me through the toughest part of my life and fought my corner against the advice of the social services department, without her love and belief in me, I wouldn't be the person I am today, I loved her as if she were my own Mum and she me. I got the call about an hour ago from one of the girls, Jenny who I met whilst in care and is a life long friend, she was contacted by Mrs Wills son, as you can see we have stayed in touch for 40 years, We are devastated but eternally grateful to one woman we called Mum x
